It was mainly fought by...figures from history, myth and legend. There were humans involved as well, but you can imagine that this is not like the American Civil War you know of, or either of the World Wars.

Of course! I do know all of those names, but it would be...a stretch for them to all be in the same place right? They are all from notably different periods in history aren't they?
[Dia does not understand Fate/ mechanics, she would be the worst FGO player.]

But more unbelievable than that was Dia thinking that Charles would be involved in an effort to save the world. Well, he did tell her that his world - his version of Earth - was in danger once and he needed to get back to it, but it was still something, knowing that Dia would trust him to be part of a heroic endeavor.

Yes, I do. I didn't play that big a role in saving America as the others I mentioned, though.

[He contemplates the tea as though wondering whether Dia's question was safe to answer. But it is hard to tell if he is hesitating to answer the question or simply deciding whether to have tea and/or a pastry.]
[Some things never changed, though. There were many aspects of modern Paris that reminded Charles of the Paris he grew up in.]
It was...always very busy and vibrant. You could meet many different people there, Dia. But sometimes, I visited the countryside as well when I wanted solitude.
