[The sound of someone coming over thankfully releases Charles from cat paralysis. Cosette leaps off his lap to greet Dia and leaves Charles free to open the door for Dia.]
Thank you, Dia. I appreciate it...although it looks like you didn't need the treat to bribe Cosette after all.
[Dia bends down to scoop Cosette up herself, giving her ears a good scratch and offering out the small treat anyways. Cosette will probably gobble it in an instant.]
It looks like she just needed a distraction. So, Charles-san. What happened when you went home?
It was mainly fought by...figures from history, myth and legend. There were humans involved as well, but you can imagine that this is not like the American Civil War you know of, or either of the World Wars.
[He looks over curiously at the pastries Dia brought before looking up to continue.]
There was Billy the Kid, Emperor Nero, [As a girl, but one revelation at a time.] Elisabeth Báthory [The revelation that Elisabeth was younger and wanted to be an idol could also wait.], Geronimo, Rama...
[THEY WERE THE GOOD GUYS!!!]
To name a few. Do you recognize them? [Of course she would. Dia is a very smart young woman, after all.]
Of course! I do know all of those names, but it would be...a stretch for them to all be in the same place right? They are all from notably different periods in history aren't they?
[Dia does not understand Fate/ mechanics, she would be the worst FGO player.]
[And he'd understand her perfectly if she didn't believe it.
But more unbelievable than that was Dia thinking that Charles would be involved in an effort to save the world. Well, he did tell her that his world - his version of Earth - was in danger once and he needed to get back to it, but it was still something, knowing that Dia would trust him to be part of a heroic endeavor.
tl;dr he doesn't deserve this.
Plus, she said she found it amazing.]
Yes, I do. I didn't play that big a role in saving America as the others I mentioned, though.
[He was mostly there to beat up dragons and possibly Medb and Cu Alter.]
[He contemplates the tea as though wondering whether Dia's question was safe to answer. But it is hard to tell if he is hesitating to answer the question or simply deciding whether to have tea and/or a pastry.]
[Some things never changed, though. There were many aspects of modern Paris that reminded Charles of the Paris he grew up in.]
It was...always very busy and vibrant. You could meet many different people there, Dia. But sometimes, I visited the countryside as well when I wanted solitude.

It was...another effort to save the world. The United States of America was...changed, and we had to correct it.

IS DIA A DEMISERVANT NOW
Date: 2018-09-06 02:59 pm (UTC)Its history was changed, and like a stone dropped into a pond, it caused ripples in the fabric of world civilization.
The United States was plunged into a strange war, but not one fought by humans.

Date: 2018-09-12 05:52 am (UTC)[Dia doesn't know how much Robin Hood counts. She surely doesn't.]
That was just the first figure from legend I thought of.

She thinks that no matter what, Charles is probably a good man. Just trying to do good things to save his world.]
Do you mind if I ask where you are from, Charles-san?
[Maybe...maybe she wants to hear Charles' story too! The one he was involved in!]
