[Dia was at a point that day where she needed to get up and walk. Ruby was tended to for the moment and was asleep again. Dia just needed to think, to clear her head, to run off some energy— something.

She doesn't expect to run into Riko in the halls.

She surely doesn't expect Riko to approach her and gather her into a hug either. She's stunned for a moment before she raises her arms to hug back. Careful.]

[ Riko shakes her head. What kind of a friend is scared to talk to her friend when they need support? A bad friend, of course. ]

You've always been here for us, for me...you shouldn't have been alone.

[ She tightens her grip around Dia making it obvious that she's not letting go anytime soon. ]

[She is going to refuse to let Riko call herself a bad friend.]

I understand, it's a scary situation. How would you have known what to say?

[ Although she has no idea how to answer Dia's question, it still feels wrong. She should've been there for them and do something, anything. ]

Ruby is doing as well as one could hope. She's sleeping a lot, and she's still in a little bit of pain. I'm just tired, but nothing that really causes any concern.

[She is still hugging Riko too, looks like she probably needed that hug.]

Maybe I could at least watch over Ruby-chan from time to time?

[ Dia should get some rest, that's for sure. Yet, Riko's not really sure if her friend will agree to this. ]

You need rest, Dia-san.

I know that I need rest, I just... I don't want to ask anyone else to take over watch. She's really frightened right now.

[Dia frowns.]

But I think she would enjoy your company, Riko-san.

Dia-san...

[ She's always been the most mature one in their group, Riko knew that very well. Dia is so calm and serious right now, it's just like she wasn't scared at all. But...is that really the truth? ]

I wish I had a sister like you.

[To tell the truth, Dia is terrified right now. She's scared Ruby won't get well quickly. She's scared that there was unseen damage. She's scared to have to explain something like this to their parents if they ever go home.

Quite frankly, Dia has been putting on a strong face for quite some time.]

[ Although it might have sounded a bit awkward (and, truth to be told, it's not the first time Riko says something like this out of the blue), Riko doesn't seem flustered. Actually, she even nods. ]

You're so strong.

[ Even if Dia's scared, she's hiding it pretty well. ]

But...remember that we're here for you and Ruby-chan.

Thank you, Riko-san. I feel happy to have you and the others around at a time like this. It reminds me that I am still here and that Ruby is too.

[Because Dia was convinced for a while that Ruby wouldn't make it, and in turn she wouldn't either. It's horrible.]

[ Riko raises her eyebrows in surprise; this is kind of a weird thing to be reminded of, isn't it? Of course they're here. Still, Riko can't blame Dia for feeling like this. She's been confused and stressed for most of the time so no doubt that Dia felt the same if not worse. ]

[ She offers her a tiny smile. ]

[The last two weeks have been an out of body experience for her. She is certain that some of the things that she is saying probably sound really concerning.]
