[ after this exchange and agreement, ruby is kind of freaking out a little bit. why did she agree to it in the first place? what does she do? WHY DID SHE THINK SHE COULD DO THIS.
so, like always, she turns to her sister. ]
Um... Sis...
Have you ever taught someone how to do something before?
I believe you can do it, Ruby. You have a wonderful talent and an opportunity to share it with someone. Do they make you nervous? Are they mean to you?
[ Riko is fully aware that she should be focused on rehearsing for the live and most likely that's what Dia would want too, but she can't simply ignore the fact that Sunsui is pretty much like the Christmas they know. Dia has been with her since the very beginning and she would like to thank her somehow for the support. The Sunsui festival seems to be a perfect occasion for doing so.
Picking a gift for Dia...that was the toughest part. The realization that she doesn't know her senpai all that well is embarrassing, but definitely not enough to deter her from getting her something! In the end, Riko realizes that matcha and tea accessories set might be a good idea. Dia will find it in the morning on the 20th, along with a card attached.
Dia-san, merry Sunsui! I think it's alright to say that? Well, in this case to write... Thank you for everything you've done for me. I know I can always count on you and I hope I can become a person you can count on as well!
[Picking gifts for complete strangers was no simple task, but Noel enjoyed it quite a bit and is now excited to deliver what she hopes will turn out to be a perfect gifts for her recipients. As such, Dia will find a gift (Noel has spent ages trying to pack it so it would look pretty—and actually managed to get it right for most part) waiting at the doorstep of her apartment in the morning. Inside, she'll find a small bag that's filled with... something. It's a greenish lump of what appears to be burnt batter mixed with... lord knows what. Everything, it seems. Either way, it's probably better not to eat it; otherwise it might result in some serious stomachache.
But! On the bright side, this sad, pitiful attempt at cookies isn't the only thing inside the package. Dia will also find a cute notebook, along with an equally cute pencil, so hopefully those can make up for the other part of the gift.
There's also a small card attached. It reads as follows:
Dear Miss Dia
Merry Sunsu! I hope you're having a good time and that you can enjoy the holidays to the fullest.
[ Happy Sunsu! Dia will find a poorly wrapped gift in black wrapping paper outside her door. There's a box of gourmet cake-pops inside along with a note in neat, royal calligraphy that reads:
[Dia may hear an unfamiliar boy's voice over the signet network, at--well, we'll say it's a reasonable time of day; he's not totally lost his head yet.]
[ The past few days were incredibly quiet. With twelve people gone, the rest of the coven is planning how to bring them back. Laphicet, having barely arrived, doesn't know much about the situation. And, as much as he'd like to help, with his artes gone, he can't even heal anyone. In such circumstances, he'd rather not wander alone—this could make Velvet needlessly worry about him, and he doesn't want that. That's the very reason he's been spending his days in his room.
Lying on the bed, Laphicet just stares at the ceiling. Is there he can do about this situation? Shouldn't he be doing something even he doesn't have his artes? These questions keep coming back persistently—so much that he put the book he's been reading away.
That's when he hears a soft sound from the other room. It's just like...someone's crying. After a pretty short investigation which involved pressing his ear against doors, he realizes it's coming from Dia's room. ]
Miss Dia? May I come in?
[ He knocks a few times, only to make sure if it's alright to enter. ]
[Needless to say, Dia has been stressed. The 12 being gone from the coven, her sister being one of them. Signing herself up for a rescue mission. It's...been rough. It's been really rough. Not sleeping well also means that Dia has been experiencing all of her emotions two-fold.
When she hears the knock, and Laphicet's gentle voice at the door. She's going to sit up and wipe her tears.
She has to take a deep breath. She doesn't want to worry him.]
[ Laphicet steps in and closes the door behind himself—it's probably not necessary, but he does it anyway. ]
Do you need anything, miss Dia?
[ Maybe he'll just pretend that he didn't hear her cry for a while. He's not so sure if Dia has eaten something today, either. Here's hoping she did. ]
[Smart kid, because she would have preferred the door closed right now anyways. She looks a little defeated, a little sad— and those are things that she just can't seem to hide right now.]
Just some company would be nice.
[She shifts to make room, electing to tell Laphicet was is really going on here.]
My younger sister is one of the twelve that were taken.
[ If Riko couldn't sort out her own feelings about the recent events, there's no way she could imagine what Dia has been through. With Ruby held captive, it must've been a nightmare for her. And Riko feels like she failed her. Dia's been with her ever since the beginning and in a time of a crisis, she couldn't help her at all. Not knowing how she would be able to help sounds just like an excuse.
With the jailbreak being successful, Riko comes to a realization that Dia and Ruby need time together alone. Not wanting to be a bother, she decides to get in touch with Dia in a few days. Hopefully, the sisters will feel at least a bit better by then.
It doesn't really go her way, though. When she leaves the apartment to go for a walk around the garden, she sees Dia walking along the corridor. ]
Dia-san...
[ Riko raises her hand to wave at her. It's way better than she imagined their first meeting after what happened to be—Riko was pretty sure that she wouldn't be able to say a word. Without waiting for her friend's response, she makes a few steps towards Dia and suddenly pulls her into a hug. ]
Dia-san. I'm sorry. Sorry for not being able to do anything.
[Dia was at a point that day where she needed to get up and walk. Ruby was tended to for the moment and was asleep again. Dia just needed to think, to clear her head, to run off some energy— something.
She doesn't expect to run into Riko in the halls.
She surely doesn't expect Riko to approach her and gather her into a hug either. She's stunned for a moment before she raises her arms to hug back. Careful.]
Riko-san, please... it's nothing to apologize for.

Why?
[That really is odd for Ruby to ask so HMMM.]

I... Uh... Sort of told somebody that I'd teach them how to knit...

I don't know if I can.

I've been talking with Jade Harley. She wants you to know that she's taking care of your sister, and not to worry.

I appreciate the update. I haven't been able to get through to her myself. Jay-san, do you know if we are any closer to getting them out?
